The Good Old Boys Biography
Collectively the individual members of The Good Old Boys have enough rock ‘n' roll experience and pedigree to stretch around Wembley Stadium several times over.
Lead singer Alan Barratt started his professional career with the original, English Jo-Jo Gunne who supported many top acts including Fleetwood Mac, The Who and Jimi Hendrix whilst bassist Nick Simper was formerly with Deep Purple. Peter Parks (guitar & vocals), played alongside Nick in the Deep Purple offshoot band Warhorse that recorded two highly collectible albums on the Vertigo label.
Richard Hudson (drums and vocals), the charismatic percussionist of The Strawbs, co-wrote with John Ford the unmistakable smash hit ‘Part Of The Union’ which reached number 2 in early 1973.
Simon Bishop (guitar & vocals), was originally a session guitarist for the BBC but has also worked alongside Bad Company's Mick Ralph and toured with Renaissance and Patti Boulaye. After doing session work in Nashville, Simon is in great demand there for his unique country rock guitar style.
The band have played at a number of gigs and in 2009 released a live album recorded at the Deep Purple Convention featuring many classic rock songs from the sixties including a version of ‘Hush’.
