Jeff Green - Jessica
This is my description text 1. It can support html.

Jeff Green grew up in California in the seventies but in 1986 decided to make the move to the UK. Hooking up with like-minded musicians, Jeff joined North Point Park, a band connected enough to gain support slots with Echo and the Bunnymen, Hazel O’Connor and Gary Numan. Moving on, his travels eventually brought him to one of the world’s most accomplished tribute bands The Illegal Eagles who, as the name would suggest, pay tribute to the Eagles.

Away from that, however, Jeff also writes and records his own material,  which is of a progressive rock nature. With influences such as Rush, Pink Floyd and Yes, it was only a matter of time before Jeff recorded his own prog album.

Jessica came about through a somewhat traumatic experience for Jeff with the loss of his daughter who was stillborn. The daughter was called Jessica and the album is both named after her and was the impetus behind the songs and the mood of the album. The album features twelve tracks including For The Future, On This Night, Jessie’s Theme and Live Forever,  and also features musical contributions from keyboardist Mike Stobbie (Pallas and John Wetton) and drummer Pete Riley (Keith Emerson Band)

Despite the nature of the genesis of the album, this is a blend of wonderful musicianship and great songwriting that covers a wide range of emotions and styles. The album was originally made available on a small scale from Jeff’s  website but is now available on a wider scale through Gonzo.

The album has already garnered great reviews from the likes of Fireworks magazine and the Classic Rock Society magazine, and with the wider distribution should move up a gear. A portion of the profits of this album are being donated to the Southend Hospital Maternity Ward to help maintain their Bereavement Room.
